Heather Cross, M.A., CAP

Heather Cross has worked in the behavioral health field for over 20 years. She has worked in Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Correctional Settings in roles both clinically and administratively. Heather has also taught at the college level about Corrections, Criminal Justice, and Substance Abuse. Heather is originally from the State of Indiana. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree from Ball State University in Psychology with a focus on Substance Abuse. She also earned a double Master’s Degree in Adult Continuing Higher Education and Executive Development in Public Service. Through her years of experience in Substance Abuse, Heather received her CAP (Certified Addiction Professional) certification in the state of Florida.

Heather moved to the state of Florida in 2015 to take a job as a Program Director of a Re-entry prison in Gadsden Florida. Heather worked for 4 years as a Director of a Medical Assisted Treatment (MAT) program in Southwest Florida. Before landing the CEO position for The Center For Progress And Excellence, Heather served as the Program Manager of The Empowerment Center Homeless Shelter in Lee County.

Heather and her husband Jeff have 2 grown children Payton and Zoe. Heather and Jeff enjoy spending their time enjoying the beautiful Florida beaches and spending time at home around the pool with friends and their 2 rescue dogs Bentley and Elijah.

Heather has dedicated much of her life to helping others and that mission will never change.
